My name is Cameron Pierre Dixon, and it is with deep pride, humility, and a heart for service that I officially announce my candidacy for City Council in the great city of Jonesboro, Georgia.

My journey in public service and community engagement didn’t just start — it’s been years in the making. Since 2007, I’ve been involved in marketing and promotions, helping elevate local businesses, events, and causes through creativity, consistency, and connection. I’ve always had a passion for helping people get seen, heard, and supported — whether it was pushing brands, planning events, or uplifting movements for change.

In 2016, my community work expanded even further. I began volunteering at the old City Hall, folding newsletters by hand alongside the late Honorable Mayor Joy B. Day. That experience planted a seed of service in me, and I’ve been dedicated ever since. That same year, I also picked up a camera and started taking campaign photos for my brother’s city council run, witnessing firsthand the importance of representation, storytelling, and grassroots organizing.

I kept showing up. In 2019, I became a graduate of the Grassroots Leadership Institute, where I learned how to turn passion into policy, and vision into results. By 2021, my peers elected me as Chairman of the City of Jonesboro Beautification Committee, where I proudly worked to improve the appearance, pride, and livability of our neighborhoods.

But what truly drives me is serving people, especially those often overlooked. I am deeply committed to advocating for our homeless community, ensuring that they are treated with dignity, connected to resources, and given real pathways to stability. Whether I’m working with youth, helping local elders with groceries, organizing school supply drives, or simply listening to neighbors — I’ve always stood on the side of service.

I’ve worn many hats — from QuikTrip manager to college student, from father to photographer, from community volunteer to mentor — but at the core of it all is a man who cares deeply about this city.

As your next Jonesboro City Councilmember, I bring:
